About Us

Opening in 1958 (as a catalog store selling custom ordered Furniture for less than retail), Eugene and Florence Norriss began servicing the Napa Valley. In 1966, they purchased the current location at 706 Trancas St. Everyone told Eugene that he would never survive out in the boonies because at that time,Trancas was so far away from the town of Napa, but he took a gamble knowing Napa would grow to him and began to build their dream that opened in 1968.

They started offering carpet and window coverings to the already successful furnishings. A few years later, they were joined by their daughter and son in law, Warren and Barbara Magee and in 1986, they took over the business and expanded to the current size. Barbara is the business' interior designer and will help with your special project. Now, their son Michael re-joined the business in 2012 and has taken over the window covering side of the business and is learning all the other parts to eventually take their place.

Since the beginning, Custom House strives to give the customer what they want, not just what we have. We offer companies that will build to our customer specific styles and taste, from dining room and living room sets, rugs and window coverings. We have always sold quality home furnishings at the best price possible and that principal has helped us become Napa's oldest family owned and operated Home Furnishing business in the valley.
